- Rhino Builders Project Consultant visits the home and listens to your remodel ideas. We want to understand your needs so we can offer you the best value. We will do this by filling out a short but thorough needs and wants profile.
- Using our Presentation Book, your consultant gives a brief but inclusive view of Rhino Builders and how we operate. We want you to understand us so you can evaluate us. You can decide "is this my type of contractor", are they selling what I want to buy?
- Your consultant will than give you an Opinion of Probable Costs.
Item 2 will take 1-2 hours. There is no cost for item 2.
Customized Project Overview Setting the Budget
- The budget is needed to provide guidelines to design your project.
- Your consultant will take notes of the planned project and fill out a client idea and selection worksheet.
- Your consultant will schedule walkthroughs that will include a field manager and trade consultation.
- Your consultant will develop a design and floor plan to incorporate your list of objectives or work with your designer.
- Your consultant will develop the initial scope of work and list of specifications or allowances that will describe the contents of the project and set the initial budget.
- There is a $250 - $500 cost for the customized project overview depending on the project scope. Cost credited to contract or in some smaller projects waived.
Item 3 will normally take 1-5 working days.
Design And Specifications
- A Design/Build contract (optional) is executed with Rhino Builders. This will produce architectural plans, permits with contract, and a written scope of work that can be used to establish exact cost (within a plus or minus 10% range of the predetermined budget). Note: Depending upon the final plans developed beyond this initial plan state and the final specifications and selections made, this price and accuracy range can change to a great extent when all items are finalized.
- The Design/Build fee is 3% to 9% of the budget. This varies depending on the size of the project, the complications of the design and material selections or what plans you may already have.
- Note: The plans provided are only guaranteed if the project in mention is built, constructed, and installed by Rhino Builders, Inc. Owners understand that the plans are not guaranteed, in any way, if anyone other than Rhino Builders, Inc. perform the installation of the component listed in the drawings and the scope of work.
- The client has the option to provide their own design and architectural plans. The design build fee is a separate contract.
Item 4 will normally take 1 to 4 weeks for the initial design and 2 to 5 weeks for the selection of materials and the cost estimate. Costs for this service are included in the Design contract.
The Contract For The Job

A Pre Construction Conference
This part of our process takes place at the job site, 1 to 3 weeks before the job is to start.
- The homeowner, the design consultant, and the production team use the plans and scope of work to verbally talk through each detail of the project. This puts all the main players on the same field and allows the construction team to know your needs and what you expect.
- The job is planned to start after the building permit is secured, all the materials are ordered and available, and the lead carpenter and subcontractors are scheduled.
Item 6 will take 1-2 days
